The Detective Agency started out around the start of the American Civil War with Mr Allan Pinkerton working for the Union, and later Mr Curry Baker took over as detective Union Spy. Over the years many other detective agencies sprung up. This badge was modelled on an original 1870/80’s Shield Badge. Made exclusively for Civil War Sutler
